Future role for higher education?

I continue to think about the shifting value point of institutions of higher education in a digital participatory culture… and am trying to decipher what our core competency is when content is ubiquitous, open and free, students are networked globally, and old accreditation models may crack under the pressure of mass public comment.

Directory of Learning Tools

This Directory contains over 2,400 tools for learning in two main sections:

1. for creating, delivering and managing learning and performance support solutions
2. for managing your own learning and productivity, for sharing resources, as well as group collaboration (also includes some enterprise tools)

The tools in this Directory are both freeware/open source and commercial.
